Description
Guilloché is a fancy term for a Spirograph.
As I child I had a Spirograph set which I remember gave me more frustration than satisfaction. The ink pen would skip, the gear would slip off, or something. And even if it completed without incident you still ended up with paper with pin holes in it.
This is a glass of red wine with sixteen rotations of the image separated by 2-3 layers of encaustic, and was inspired by the piece that earned me my first award. That piece was a pair of wings with a similar eight-times fading rotation. Atop this piece highlighted etchings reminiscent of string art, cats in a cradle, etc.
